Meet our summer intern, Kaityln Hoelscher!

Catholic Charities is grateful to have received one of the Tyson Foods Summer Community Internship Grants. Tyson and Iowa Campus Compact have formed a partnership to help students gain professional experience while making an impact on the community through organizations like ours.

Kaitlyn is an upcoming Morningside College senior majoring in counseling psychology and minoring in studio art. She also attended Western Iowa Tech. Kaitlyn worked remotely in June and joined the Sioux City office in person in July. She assists clients seeking financial assistance, completes paperwork and releases, helps families access community resources, is creating social media content and helps many of our staff with timely projects.

“Since I was a child, I’ve had a passion for helping people. I love art projects, spending time with my beagle, Rocky, and surrounding myself with friends. This internship has been an incredible opportunity. It has been very nice to recognize, understand and apply so much from my classes. When anyone asks me how my internship is going, I tell them I am in love. The atmosphere and the people here are so incredible. Everyone is kind, helpful, understanding, and welcoming. I have never worked somewhere where I feel more appreciated for what I do. This has been an amazing experience! I will be sad when I have to leave, but I promise to come visit for sure”.

Kaitlyn has been a blessing to our team, and we’re appreciative of her great work!
