Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Sioux City will offer a Suicide Support Group this fall, with the first of six meetings to be held on November 2.

The group is open to anyone over 18 who has lost a family member or friend to suicide 30 days ago or longer. Clinical Services Director Benita Triplett, LISW, encourages loved ones struggling from such a loss to join. “More people than ever have lost someone close to them by suicide. Through this group, we will provide hope and support for moving forward in your journey through grief and loss.” Benita will co-facilitate the group with therapist, Nate Phillips, P-LMHC.

There is no cost to join. Meetings will be held on 6 consecutive Tuesdays, Nov. 2 – Dec. 7, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Sioux City location, 1301 Military Avenue. The group will be closed, meaning membership will remain the same for the entire session. Benita explains, “we want to provide a caring, comfortable and confidential setting in which you can listen, share and connect with others to build an on-going support system.”
