Groundbreaking/Blessing Event

Updated: Oct 21

Join us! The groundbreaking and blessing ceremony for Angeline’s Wing for Children & Families will be held October 28, 2024, at 4:00 PM at our Sioux City facility.

The community is invited to join in celebrating this exciting new chapter for specialized youth mental health care services in Siouxland and the Diocese of Sioux City.

Held in partnership with the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, the event will also feature a blessing of the project from Bishop R. Walker Nickless.

Angeline’s Wing is named in memory of Angeline Thom of Ashton, whose estate bequest has been instrumental in making this project possible. Her gift provided critical matching dollars for the Missouri River Historical Development Economic Development Match Grant. Many more generous donors will be recognized at the event for their vital role in bringing this vision to life.

RML Architects designed the 7,200 square foot addition to be bright, cheerful and welcoming for young people. H&R Construction was selected as the contractor.

The new wing includes:

·         An expanded entrance and waiting room

·         Offices for specialized youth mental health therapists

·         Psychiatrist suite with private check-in room

·         Age-appropriate therapy spaces for play therapy, youth therapy & art

·         Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT) room

·         Group Therapy spaces

Since its founding, our agency has remained steadfast in its mission to those most vulnerable, especially children. Today, the need for specialized youth mental health services is greater than ever.

"Angeline’s Wing will be a place of hope for so many young people and their families, We are grateful for the support from our Board and staff, the diocese, donors and community partners and are eager to see the healing that will happen within this beautiful space."

~Executive Director Amy Bloch, LISW
