Denys Azpeitia, MSW

Sioux City Bilingual Therapist

Denys is a school-based/bilingual therapist providing mental health services to children in the rural Catholic Schools and to Spanish speaking clients. Denys graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master of Social Work from the University of Iowa. She first joined Catholic Charities as an intern in the fall of 2019 and began her full-time role in January 2020. She enjoys working at Catholic Charities because she is able to serve people in her community and children in diverse schools. “Having access to therapy is fundamental for our mental health and much more effective when therapy is in your native language”. says Denys She also enjoys collaborating with other organizations in the community. Denys believes self-care is vital. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, taking road trips, and traveling overseas, specially to her hometown in Mexico.
