Each year, the Diocese of Sioux City sponsors a special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2nd collection for Catholic Charities to ensure compassionate care in Christ’s example for those most vulnerable throughout the Diocese. As you may expect, more individuals, couples, children and families are seeking help from Catholic Charities right now.

Gifts from this collection are vitally important to our work all year, supporting services for people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds:

  • In-person and telehealth mental health counseling, turning no one away for the inability to pay.
  • Financial assistance for families in crisis
  • Community outreach, support and follow-up
  • Educational resources, especially during times like these

With Covid restrictions, fewer people will be in the pews this Christmas, so gifts can be made online,  by dropping a special collection envelope in the basket at Mass or by mailing to: Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Sioux City, 1601 Military Rd, Sioux City, IA 51103.

In this season of reflection on the humble beginning to Jesus’s earthly life and His compassion for the poor, you can give hope, healing and understanding to His people in need.

A Blessed Advent and Merry Christmas to all from Catholic Charities.
